Wir wissen es auch nicht unbedingt genau, warum, aber immer dann,

fällt uns zuerst die Genfer Marke Richard Mille ein. „Das ist eines unserer günstigeren Modelle, der Spaß
kostet unter einer Million", hieß es auf Nachfrage. Es sollte wohl ein Scherz sein.
Und schon bei der Präsentation der aktuellen Neuheit des Hauses auf dem Salon International
de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) wissen wir wieder, warum.
Und tatsächlich lachen die Anwesenden. Doch dieser Scherz hat einen durchaus ernstzunehmenden Kern. In diesem Jahr
hat Mille die neue RM 53-01 dem argentinischen Polospieler Pablo McDonough gewidmet.
Damit er diese Uhr auch beim Spielen tragen kann, wurde das filigrane Tourbillonwerk speziell stoßgeschützt.
Der Einstieg bei Richard Mille liegt bei gut 60.000 Euro, der Durchschnittspreis eher beim Dreifachen, die Neuheiten der vergangenen Jahre bewegten sich alle im siebenstelligen Eurobereich.
Es nä einfach damit Gehäuse aus Carbonkomposit verschraubt,
sondern ist an 0,27 Millimeter dünnen Stahlseilen aufgehängt.
Angeblich widersteht diese Konstruktion einem Schlag mit 5000 g.
Geschützt wird es von einer gewölbten Scheibe aus Verbundglas, nur
eben dünner und härter.
